Strategists or marines?

Social Networks are fast growing (here).
Brands are decentralising (here).
Traffic lights are disappearing: "road users have to negotiate their behavior with each other, rather than have it prescribed by rules" (here)
No big plans, no big strategies.

We will probably have to clearly state our goals, and just jump in, without ever know which is the shortest or the best way to get there.
Do you remember that game with the frog that had to cross the street?
Well… that’s a possibile metaphor for strategic planning and brand building process.
You know you have to get there, you know you will find many different difficulties…
learn to learn fast, react, and go ahead.
Plan, but be ready to do something completely different,
you don't control the system.
